The First Jet Aircraft to be Launched from Hannah`s Deck

June 17, 1954 marked the first time a Jet powered aircraft launched from Hancock`s flight deck, when Lt(jg) W.T. Brooks` F2H-3 Banshee No.71 took flight. It was also the fastest jet aircraft at that time.
